Work with us

Eight roles open across the group, and most of them need no previous experience because we train people properly rather than hiring and hoping.

Hours
40 to 45 hours a week, depending on shift pattern
Locations
Roles are based across the group's UK locations. Ace itself works Bedfordshire and the surrounding counties from our base at Cople, so if you want to stay local, say so and we will tell you what is available near you.
Training
Every one of these roles is cross-trainable. People move between them regularly, and we would rather train someone we already trust than hire a stranger.

The eight roles

Trainee Pest Control Technician

£26,000 to £32,000 basic

No experience needed, full training given

The way most people get into this trade. No previous experience is needed and the qualifications are paid for.

You will start alongside an experienced technician and learn the work properly rather than being handed a van and a list. Wasp nests, rodents, insects and birds, across domestic and commercial premises.

We put trainees through their industry qualifications. What matters more at the start is being reliable, being decent with customers who are often upset, and not minding lofts, ladders and the occasional unpleasant discovery.

A full driving licence is essential.

Experienced Pest Control Technician

£30,000 to £38,000 basic

Qualified and experienced

For technicians who already hold their qualifications and want a round they can settle into.

Running your own round across domestic and commercial work, including scheduled contract visits where the documentation matters as much as the treatment.

You will be trusted to survey, decide and report without being second-guessed. We would rather you told a customer they do not need a treatment than sold one.

Full driving licence essential.

Heat Treatment Technician

£30,000 to £40,000 basic

No experience needed, full training given

Specialist work using heat rather than chemicals, mainly for bed bugs. Training is provided in full.

Heat treatment means bringing a room or a whole property up to a temperature that kills every life stage, then proving it held. It is technical, physical and genuinely effective where conventional treatment struggles.

The work involves equipment setup, monitoring and careful preparation with the occupier. Attention to detail matters more than strength.

Full driving licence essential.

Bird Control Technician

£30,000 to £35,000 basic

No experience needed, full training given

Proofing, netting and humane bird management, much of it at height on commercial buildings.

Bird work is its own discipline. Netting, spikes, wire systems and proofing, usually on commercial roofs and always inside what the law allows around nesting birds.

A head for heights is essential and access qualifications are provided. If you have roofing or scaffolding experience it transfers well.

Solar Panel Proofing Installer

£30,000 to £35,000 basic

No experience needed, full training given

Fitting proofing around solar arrays to keep pigeons out from underneath them.

The gap beneath a solar array is close to ideal for pigeons, and the mess builds up quickly once a pair is established. The job is clearing what is there and fitting a perimeter system that keeps them out without blocking access for panel maintenance.

Roof work, so a head for heights is essential. Access qualifications provided.

Full driving licence essential.

Roofer

£30,000 to £35,000 basic

Trade experience required

Roofing work arising from pest and proofing jobs, from repairs to full proofing installations.

A lot of pest work ends at the roofline: displaced tiles, failed soffits, open verges and damaged fascias that let birds and rodents in. This role is the trade side of that.

You will need real roofing experience. Everything else, including the pest side, we will cross-train you on if you want it.

Full driving licence essential.

Loft Insulation Installer

£30,000 to £35,000 basic

No experience needed, full training given

Removing contaminated insulation and reinstating it after rodent or bird work.

After a serious rodent or bird infestation the insulation usually has to come out. This role is the clearance and the reinstatement, working in loft spaces with the right protective equipment.

It is physical work in awkward spaces. Full training given, including safe handling and disposal.

Full driving licence essential.

Clearance Operative

£30,000 to £35,000 basic

No experience needed, full training given

Clearing and decontaminating properties before and after treatment.

Some jobs need the site cleared before anything else can happen: fouling, nesting material, contaminated goods and the occasional hoarded property.

It is not glamorous and it matters. Full training and protective equipment given, and it is one of the better routes into the technical side if you want to go that way.

Full driving licence essential.
